New Delhi: Monsoon has now fully gained momentum in North India. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, an alert of heavy rain has been issued in 18 states of the country. Monsoon is active in states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, due to which the temperature has dropped and people have got a big relief from the scorching heat. In the country’s capital Delhi also, the sky is expected to be dark cloudy and light drizzle is expected on Saturday. The temperature in Delhi today is expected to be between 30 to 32 degrees Celsius, due to which the weather will remain very pleasant.

Mixed effects of monsoon are being seen in Uttar Pradesh. Today the Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow alert’ of heavy rain in districts like Bijnor, Bulandshahr, Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar of Western UP. At the same time, people of Noida and Ghaziabad may get some respite from heavy rains, although it will remain cloudy here too.
Weather condition in Uttar Pradesh
Talking about Eastern Uttar Pradesh, rain warning has been issued in the areas of Gorakhpur, Ballia, Ghazipur, Basti, Kushinagar and Maharajganj. On the contrary, the chances of rain today are very less in the districts like Kanpur, Lucknow, Hamirpur, Banda and Jalaun in the central part of the state and Bundelkhand region. According to meteorologists, there may be torrential rains in West UP from 11 to 16 July and in Eastern UP from 12 to 14 July.
Disaster rain in hilly states
Monsoon is raining like a disaster in hilly states like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. There has been a warning of continuous heavy rain in Uttarakhand from 11 to 16 July, due to which the risk of landslides has increased. There is an alert of heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh from 11 to 16 July. Tourists visiting major tourist places like Shimla and Manali have been advised to exercise caution. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Muzaffarabad till July 12.
Know where and when it will rain
Talking about the plains, rain activities will continue in Punjab from 10 to 13 July and in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi from 11 to 13 July. The rainy season will continue in eastern Rajasthan also till July 16. Apart from this, monsoon is completely kind in 18 states of the country including Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. However, at present there are no major signs of heavy rain in the country’s financial capital Mumbai, due to which the people there may have to wait for a while. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to take special precautions while traveling in waterlogged areas and hilly areas.
