India have already lost two consecutive T20I series for the first time since 2019, which included losing to Ireland for the first-ever instance.

On Saturday, Iyer and Gambhir would be looking not only for a consolation victory but also to avoid an ignominious whitewash, something that this T20I unit has never faced in its two decades’ history.

India’s first-ever whitewash in a T20I series that includes three or more games. If India lose today, this whitewash will be another huge blot on Gambhir’s legacy as India’s coach.

Meanwhile, India are already a depleted unit for the 5th T20I as Varun Chakravarthy and Harshit Rana both have been ruled out owing to hamstring injuries.
