DMart: Veteran investor Radhakishan Damani’s Avenue Supermarts i.e. DMart has posted a record profit in the first quarter of the current financial year. They have recently announced strong financial results for the first quarter of FY 2026-27. The company’s profits and revenues have grown significantly. The DMart retail store chain across the country is operated by the same company. According to the information provided by the company, the financial performance of the company has been very good for the quarter ended on 30th June 2026.

Huge increase in profit and revenue

According to the figures, the company’s net profit has risen to ₹1,935.77 crore from ₹829.73 crore in the same quarter last year. That is, the profit has increased by about 12.8 percent. Similarly, the total revenue of the company increased from ₹ 15,932.12 crore to ₹ 18,343.49 crore, recording a significant increase in revenue.

“The PAT margin was 4.6% in the first quarter of FY2027, compared to 4.7% in the first quarter of FY2026,” the company said in its earnings statement on Saturday evening. Avenue Supermarts total expenses rose 15.11 percent to ₹17,637.17 crore in the June quarter. Including other income, the company’s total income was ₹18,820.31 crore, up 14.9 percent over the June quarter.

₹1,000 crore will be raised for expansion

The board of directors of the company has also approved raising funds for business expansion. Avenue Supermarts is reportedly planning to raise up to ₹1,000 crore by issuing non-convertible debentures through a private placement. The company has clarified that this amount will be raised in one or more phases.

Major changes in management

The company has announced some important changes in senior management. Lalit Ahuja has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer with effect from 13 July 2026. He has 28 years of experience in companies like Philips, Dabur and Apple. Also, the Board of Directors has approved the re-appointment of Bhaskaran N as Whole Time Director and COO. His new tenure will be from 17 October 2026 to 31 May 2028.
