Both the car owner and the mechanic are worried. Kejriwal attacks Center on E20 petrol
Knews Desk- Political rhetoric has intensified between the central government and the opposition regarding E20 petrol. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has targeted the central government over the alleged technical problems faced by vehicles due to the use of E20 petrol. He claimed that due to this fuel, many vehicle owners are facing problems like low mileage, increasing maintenance expenses and technical faults.
On Saturday, Arvind Kejriwal met some vehicle owners and car mechanics in Delhi. During this, he took information from the people about the problems faced after the use of E20 petrol. Kejriwal says that the complaints of common people should be taken seriously and the government should review this policy.
Conversation with vehicle owners and mechanics
During the meeting, many vehicle owners claimed that after starting the use of E20 petrol, the mileage of their vehicles has become less than before. He said that due to this the expenditure on fuel has increased.
While talking to Kejriwal, some car mechanics also said that in recent times the number of such vehicles has increased, which are being brought to the workshop due to technical problems after using E20 petrol. However, these claims have not been independently verified.
Video shared on social media
Arvind Kejriwal shared a video of this meeting on social media. Along with the video, he wrote that he talked to car mechanics and vehicle owners in Delhi regarding ethanol mixed E20 petrol.
He claimed that long queues of vehicles damaged due to E20 petrol were seen in many workshops and vehicle owners were complaining of low mileage. He also appealed to people to watch the video and share their experiences.
Targeted at the central government
Kejriwal raised questions on the policy of the central government and said that only press conferences and public statements will not solve the problems on the ground. He alleged that E20 petrol is being implemented without adequate preparation on the people, causing additional economic burden on the middle class.
He said that the rising repair cost of vehicles and fuel expenses have become a matter of concern for people already facing inflation.
Demand for review of policy
The AAP chief demanded the central government to review the E20 policy. He says that if any government policy is causing economic or technical problems to the common citizens then it should be reconsidered. He suggested that the government should have a comprehensive discussion on this topic with automobile experts, vehicle manufacturers, mechanics and consumers, so that any possible problems can be resolved.
Discussions regarding E20 petrol have been going on at political and technical levels for some time. The government says that ethanol blended fuel will reduce dependence on petrol and will benefit the environment, while the opposition is raising questions about its impact. At present, there has been no official response from the Central Government regarding this statement on the allegations made by Kejriwal regarding E20 petrol. In such a situation, the political debate on this issue is likely to continue.
