New Delhi. The Anti Paper Leak Amendment Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday amid huge uproar. After a long discussion, the House approved this bill by voice vote. After passing the bill, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla adjourned the proceedings of the House till 11 am on July 30.
Earlier, there was a huge uproar in the Parliament over the statement of opposition leader Rahul Gandhi. During the discussion on the bill, there was a heated debate between the ruling party and the opposition. Union Minister Jitendra Singh targeted the opposition while presenting the bill in the Lok Sabha. He alleged that the opposition is doing politics instead of giving suggestions on this serious issue. Jitendra Singh said that this bill shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to the future of the youth, but the opposition preferred political allegations and counter-allegations instead of constructive discussion.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s statement, Jitendra Singh said that the comments made about the youth of the country are unfortunate. He said that language and decorum should be taken care of in Parliament.
The Union Minister also mentioned the incident of July 21 and took a dig at the opposition leader. He said that people holding responsible positions in public life should follow parliamentary traditions in their conduct and statements. At the same time, during the discussion on the bill, there were several altercations between the ruling party and the opposition, due to which the atmosphere of the House remained chaotic.
