CWG 2026 IND vs PAK: On Kargil Vijay Diwas, Indian boxer Jadumani Singh made this special day more memorable for Indian sports fans by defeating Pakistan in the ring. Jadumani defeated Pakistan’s Sumama Rehman by unanimous decision in the men’s 55kg boxing match of the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow on Sunday. With this victory, the Indian boxer secured a place in the quarter-finals. However, after the match there was tension between the two players and they did not shake hands with each other.

This victory of Jadumani Singh was also special because the match took place on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Every year on 26 July, India remembers the Indian soldiers who showed indomitable courage in the Kargil War of 1999 and the brave soldiers who made supreme sacrifice for the country.

Jadumani’s dominance in the ring, Sumama was not given a chance

22-year-old Jadumani Singh from Manipur looked in control from the start of the match. He maintained constant pressure on Pakistan’s Sumama Rehman with his speed and accurate punches.

Pakistani boxers could not leave much impact in front of Jadumani’s strategy. The Indian player maintained his dominance throughout the match and ultimately the judges gave the unanimous decision in his favour.

With this victory, Jadumani reached the quarter-finals of the men’s 55 kg boxing event of the Commonwealth Games 2026 and took another step towards a medal.

Didn’t shake hands after victory

What happened in the ring after the match brought this IND vs PAK clash into more discussion. There was no handshake between the two boxers before and after the match. There was tension between the two players even after the referee announced the result. There was a heated exchange between the two inside the ring for some time and after that they left without shaking hands.

In that match also the Indian boxers completely dominated and won by a unanimous decision of 5-0. Now he has achieved his second consecutive spectacular victory by defeating Sumama Rehman of Pakistan.
