The SIT probing the theft of Ram Temple offerings is now preparing to submit its final report. Now only two days are left in the deadline of July 15 set by the government. In such a situation, the investigation has reached the final stage and sources say that along with the facts revealed so far in the report, there may be some new revelations also. Based on the evidence found during the investigation, the role of some more people has also been investigated, hence the possibility of new names being revealed in the final report is not being ruled out.
Also, the SIT will not be limited to only the case of theft, but will also suggest comprehensive changes in the temple management and security arrangements to prevent such incidents in future. According to sources, the most important part of the report will be the technology-based monitoring system, in which recommendations can be made to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) based monitoring system.
SIT was formed on June 13, investigation started from June 15
After allegations of theft of offerings in Ram temple came to light, the Uttar Pradesh government had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on June 13. The SIT started the formal investigation from June 15 and began examining the temple premises, counting system of offerings, records, bank transactions, CCTV footage and questioning the concerned employees. The SIT gathered many important facts in the initial phase of the investigation. The preliminary report was submitted to the government within a week. It was claimed in that report that within about 40 days, there were indications of about 70 incidents of tampering and theft of offerings. Many CCTV footage related to these incidents are also in the possession of the SIT, which were technically analyzed.
