Japan has extended its visa-free entry scheme for holders of ordinary Thai passports by another year until 2027, Thailand’s Department of Consular Affairs announced.
Under the extended policy, Thai tourists can continue to enter Japan without a visa for stays of up to 15 days per trip between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027, The Nation Thailand reported.
Travelers are advised to comply strictly with entry conditions, avoid overstaying and not work without permission.

Thailand is Japan’s sixth-largest source of international visitors and remains its biggest tourism market among Southeast Asian countries.
During the first four months of 2026, Japan welcomed 557,800 visitors from Thailand, up 7.2% from the same period a year earlier.
