He said that 20 years ago, when Digvijay Singh was the Chief Minister, during the Congress government, Datia and the surrounding areas were struggling with the terror of dacoits, but after the BJP government came, there was a big change in law and order and the atmosphere of the area changed completely. He asked Congress to also seek votes from the public on the basis of its work.
Why is by-election being held in Datia?
Actually, by-election is being held on Datia assembly seat because Congress MLA Rajendra Bharti’s assembly membership ended after his conviction in a fraud case. Now voting will take place on 30th July and counting of votes will take place on 3rd August. Congress has made Kunwar Ghanshyam Singh its candidate from this seat.
Why was Narottam Mishra’s ticket canceled from Datia?
It is said that the state BJP had initially sent the name of Narottam Mishra to the central leadership, but after the feedback received from Delhi, the party decided to change the candidate.
