An important Congress Party meeting was held on Sunday in Jintugada village, Tola Durlipi, Jagannathpur block, to plan a successful and grand celebration of International Tribal Day , to be celebrated on August 9th. Jagannathpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip (ruling party) Sonaram Sinku attended the meeting as the chief guest. Block Congress President Lalit Kumar Doraiburu chaired the meeting.
The meeting thoroughly reviewed the preparations for the International Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations. To ensure a historic, grand, and disciplined event, several important topics were discussed, including reception arrangements, guest invitations, stage management, cultural programs, security arrangements, and the formation of various committees.
Addressing the activists, MLA Sonaram Sinku said that International Indigenous Peoples Day is not just a celebration, but a symbol of the culture, tradition, language, identity, and rights of the indigenous community. He said that all those coming from remote rural areas will be respectfully welcomed and no effort will be spared to make the event memorable.
He appealed to Congress workers and committee members to discharge their assigned responsibilities with utmost dedication, honesty, and seriousness. He said the success of the program would depend on the collective efforts and active participation of all workers.
The MLA stated that the area’s Manki-Munda, Diuri, Dakua, Mukhiya, Panchayat representatives, social workers, intellectuals, and social activists will be specially invited to the main event on August 9. Responsibilities have also been divided among Panchayat presidents and senior Congress workers.
The meeting also decided to launch a comprehensive public relations campaign at each Panchayat level to ensure maximum participation. Workers were called upon to go from village to village, motivating people to participate in the program and spreading the message of strengthening the unity, culture, and heritage of tribal society.
During the meeting, activists also shared their suggestions and assured full cooperation to ensure the event was a success. Together, they resolved to celebrate International Indigenous Peoples Day this year in a historic and grand manner.
Many Congress party officials, Panchayat President, senior workers and a large number of local villagers were present in the meeting.
