Life Insurance Council: Promoting ‘Insurance for All’; Publication of comic book series based on life insurance

Mumbai: A comic book series on life insurance, prepared for consumer awareness, was released by Ajay Seth, Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). This initiative has been jointly implemented by leading life insurance companies and the Life Insurance Council to further strengthen the national initiative ‘Insurance for All’.

Life insurance information in simple language

This comic book series has been created to make the complex concepts related to life insurance easy to understand for the common man. It explains important concepts like MWP (Married Women’s Property Act), Waiver of Premium (WoP) and Critical Illness Rider through real-life situations and stories.

Seminar on the occasion of National Insurance Awareness Day

A special symposium on the topic ‘India Asks: Why Prioritise Life Insurance?’ was also organized as part of the event organised to mark National Insurance Awareness Day. In this discussion, experts provided guidance on the importance of life insurance in financial planning, financial security and insurance literacy.

Strong growth of the life insurance sector

According to the information given in the program, there has been an increase of 15.7 percent in the premium of new business in the life insurance sector in the financial year 2025-26. Also, more than 2.83 crore new life insurance policies were issued during this period.

Keynote Speakers Kamlesh Rao, Chairman, IAC-Life said, “The objective of ‘Insurance for All’ is to ensure that financial protection is permanently embedded in the financial planning of every Indian family.”

Aditya Gupta, Secretary General, Life Insurance Council said, “This comic book series, created for consumer awareness, will more effectively convey the importance of life insurance to the general public through storytelling.”

An important step towards financial literacy

The main objective of this initiative is to raise awareness about life insurance, dispel misconceptions about insurance and make every family understand the importance of financial protection through comic books. This initiative is being considered as an important step towards achieving the goal of ‘Insurance for All’.
