Deadly attack on Hindu family in Bangladesh, elderly man drowned in water

Bangladesh. In a series of atrocities against minorities, Bangladesh has witnessed another shocking incident. In the Lalmohan sub-district of Bhola district, a Hindu family was brutally attacked with the intention of seizing their land, despite a favorable court verdict. This violent incident occurred in broad daylight, and not only was the couple brutally beaten, but the elderly father of the family was also drowned and tortured.

Home invasion, vandalism and looting

According to information received from local sources, the victim, Gopal Krishna Das, had won a legal battle over his land. However, the court’s decision in his favor prompted the land mafia and attackers to attack his home. They brutally beat Gopal Krishna Das and his wife, Akhi Rani Das, with sticks. Crossing all limits of brutality, the goons drowned the elderly father of the family and tortured him. They also severely assaulted the two daughters present in the house. Furthermore, the attackers vandalized the house and looted valuables before leaving.

Awami League surrounded the government

Following this incident, the political atmosphere in Bangladesh has once again heated up over the safety of minorities. The former ruling party, the Awami League, has launched a scathing attack on the current interim regime and elements supported by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. In an official statement, the Awami League stated that law and order in the country has completely deteriorated, and the current government is proving completely ineffective in protecting Hindu families and other religious minorities. Furthermore, they alleged that criminals are carrying out such incidents in broad daylight due to political patronage. Currently, there is widespread outrage among human rights organizations and minority communities over the lax action taken by the local administration in this case.
