AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has openly offered an alliance to the Samajwadi Party. He said, “Our party does not want a BJP government in Uttar Pradesh. I am ready to join hands with Akhilesh.” Speaking at an event in Moradabad district, Owaisi said, “Muslims will no longer spread the carpet. We too want equality now. Our fight is not against any religion.”
In his address, Owaisi said, “We were not and will never be against any religion. Our fight was not and will never be against any religion. Our fight is for respect, rights, justice, and participation. We no longer want to sit on a mat. We now want equality. If there is a chair and Akhilesh sits on it, Owaisi will cross his legs in front of that chair and demand rights and justice.”
From the stage, Owaisi offered to contest the elections together with the Samajwadi Party. He said, “Now is the right time. Don’t cry later that Owaisi has caused harm.” However, the Samajwadi Party has not yet responded to his statement.
There is time today, talk to me… don’t cry later
Owaisi said, “I have said this before and I am saying it again today that the Majlis does not want the BJP to form a government in Uttar Pradesh again. I am ready to join hands. I am ready to form an alliance. Today is the time… let’s talk. Don’t cry after the elections are over. We do not want the BJP to come to power again. You say that Owaisi’s contesting causes us harm. Come on, I am ready to fight together with you.”
Owaisi’s Bihar strategy in UP
Assembly elections are scheduled for next year, 2027, in Uttar Pradesh. The main contest is between the ruling BJP and the Samajwadi Party (SP). The state has a significant Muslim population, and the SP is believed to have a strong hold on this vote bank. Owaisi’s frequent events in Uttar Pradesh have exacerbated the SP’s difficulties. The Hyderabad MP has made a similar open offer in Uttar Pradesh to Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar, although Tejashwi Yadav has not joined forces with him.
