IRCTC website was first launched in 2002
IRCTC website was first launched in the year 2002. Today it handles an average of over 14.5 lakh ticket bookings every day. Crores of people book tickets every month on such a big platform. Now, after about 24 years, a major change is being made in its design and way of working so that booking tickets can be easier and faster.
Clean and easy user interface
According to the Railway Ministry, the biggest change of the new website is its new design. The website will look cleaner than before. There will be no unnecessary pop-ups, flashing objects and distracting elements on the screen. With this, users will be able to easily pay attention to important information and the ticket booking experience will be better.
Frequently There will be less trouble in filling captcha.
The biggest change in the new website has been made regarding Captcha. While booking tickets, many times users had to fill the captcha again and again, due to which the booking took time. This problem has been reduced to a great extent in the new beta version. This can especially provide relief to people who have booked Tatkal tickets.
Seats of all classes will be visible together
The way to view seat availability in the new website has also been changed. Now there will be no need to change seats again and again to see seats in different classes. Users will be able to see seat availability of different classes at one place. This will make it easier than ever to choose the right option.
The entire process of ticket booking will be faster than before.
IRCTC has also made the checkout process easier. Earlier, while booking tickets, one had to complete many screens and many steps. These have been reduced in the new website. This means that it will take less time to book tickets and the entire process will be faster than before.
No need to fill passenger information again and again
If you often book tickets for the same person, this task will also become easier in the new website. The passenger information saved in this can be reused. There will be no need to fill name, age and other information again every time.
Railway Ministry said that the suggestions of the students of Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur have also been included in the design of this new website. Students had given many suggestions to make the website more simple and user friendly. This new beta version has been prepared based on those suggestions.
Currently only beta versionfull launch will happen later
The government says that at present this is only a beta version. Its purpose is to take feedback from users. Further improvements will be made in the website after receiving suggestions from people. After this, the new IRCTC portal will be fully launched in a few weeks.
The website will also be connected to the new passenger reservation engine
The Railway Ministry has also informed that the new website will soon be linked to the new Passenger Reservation (PRS). This system handles railway ticket booking across the country. This system is also being made modern so that the website can work better even during high traffic.
Where to find beta website?
You can use the new beta website by visiting. A link to the beta version will also be given on the homepage of the existing IRCTC website so that people can easily try the new website.
The purpose of the new website is not only to give a new look but also to make ticket booking faster, easier and less hassle. If the beta testing is successful then crores of railway passengers will get to use this new IRCTC portal in the coming weeks.
