“Rahul Gandhi is troubled by PM Modi’s popularity”—Piyush Goyal launches a scathing attack, saying Gen-G’s trust is with the BJP.

Mumbai. Union Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Piyush Goyal on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi is uncomfortable with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s growing popularity among the youth, which is why he is constantly targeting the Prime Minister.

Mumbai North MP Piyush Goyal said that Rahul Gandhi has long presented himself as a youth leader, but now the youth have more confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He claimed that the BJP is receiving continued support, especially from Gen-Z.

Youth with the vision of a developed India –
Goyal said that the country’s youth are strongly aligned with Prime Minister Modi’s resolve for a “developed India.” Describing Prime Minister Modi as one of the most popular leaders in the world, he said that his direct communication with the youth and his active participation on social media are giving new impetus to the country’s development.

He said, “Rahul Gandhi is upset with Prime Minister Modi’s growing popularity and his strong connection with the youth. It’s now clear that his popularity among the youth is no longer what it once was.”

Defended the Paper Leak Law –
Piyush Goyal defended the central government’s position on questions related to the youth protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and the subsequent resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He stated that the Modi government has enacted a stringent law to prevent exam paper leaks, enabling strict action against the culprits.

Taking aim at the UPA government –
Goyal alleged that the Congress-led UPA government planned to enact a law to prevent exam paper leaks in 2010-11, but failed to implement it.

He said that the NDA government enacted this law in 2014 and later amended it to make it more effective. The new provisions include stringent punishments, speedy investigations, and fast-track court trials.

Piyush Goyal accused the opposition of opposing the law –
Piyush Goyal accused opposition parties, including the Congress, Samajwadi Party, and Aam Aadmi Party, of opposing the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, in Parliament.

He said that the opposition is facing continuous electoral defeats, so instead of providing positive support on public issues, it is opposing every important initiative. Goyal said that if the opposition was truly in the interest of students and youth, it should have supported this bill.

It is noteworthy that the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, was recently passed by both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
