New Delhi. The central government has taken a major decision that will provide significant relief to millions of farmers across the country. The Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme has been approved for continuation. The Union Cabinet has decided to continue the scheme from 2026-27 to 2030-31, approving a financial provision of approximately ₹3.15 lakh crore.
Financial assistance will continue till 2031
Following this government decision, eligible farmers will continue to receive the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in the coming years. Under this scheme, eligible farmer families receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually. This amount is transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts in three equal installments through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Farmers are waiting for the 24th installment
Farmers are now eyeing the 24th installment of the scheme. The previous, the 23rd, was released in June 2026. Therefore, it is expected that the next installment will be released in October or November 2026. However, the government has not yet announced an official date.
Keep e-KYC and documents updated
The government has advised farmers to ensure they have all e-KYC, Aadhaar linking, and bank account information up to date to avoid any problems receiving their next installment. Farmers who do not complete e-KYC may face installment delays.
The scheme was started in 2019
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was launched in 2019 to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. Over the years, this scheme has become a significant income support program for farmers. Now, with its extension until 2031, millions of farmer families will continue to receive regular financial assistance.
