Lucknow, 17 July. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, while targeting Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav, said that if he is really a devotee of Lord Shri Krishna then he should also openly express his opinion on the issue of Eidgah located near Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura. Keshav Maurya said while talking to journalists that the case related to Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura is pending in the court. He alleged that Akhilesh Yadav is only pretending to be a Ram devotee. He said that if they really want to show devotion to Krishna then they should leave Muslim vote bank politics and talk about removing Eidgah.
Gyanvapi also mentioned
Referring to Kashi Vishwanath Dham of Varanasi, Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the corridor has been constructed there, but the matter of a structure located near the temple is still pending. Pointing towards the Gyanvapi complex without naming him, he claimed that just as the Ram temple was built in Ayodhya, similarly a grand temple of Lord Vishwanath will be built in Varanasi.
SP counterattacks, demands action from Governor
Samajwadi Party reacted strongly to Maurya’s statement. SP spokesperson Manoj Rai Dhupchandi said that the case related to Krishna Janmabhoomi is pending in the court, hence making such a statement by the Deputy Chief Minister is not in accordance with the constitutional decorum. He demanded from the Governor of Uttar Pradesh that appropriate action should be taken against Keshav Prasad Maurya for commenting on the case pending in the court while holding a constitutional post.
‘Expressing the anger of defeat’
Manoj Rai Dhupchandi also alleged that Keshav Prasad Maurya is continuously making statements against Samajwadi Party and Akhilesh Yadav in the disappointment of defeat in Sirathu assembly elections.
