Rajbhar-Nishad face to face in Atrauli, BJP’s tension increased due to clash between allies
Before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2027, the tussle over seats within the NDA has now started coming to the fore. Atrauli assembly seat of Azamgarh has become the most talked about seat of the alliance at present. On one hand, SubhaSP President Omprakash Rajbhar has announced his younger son Arun Rajbhar to contest elections from Atrauli, while on the other hand, National President of Nishad Party and Cabinet Minister Dr. Sanjay Nishad has expressed strong objection to this, saying that Rajbhar is breaking the decorum of the alliance and allies should not publicly claim seats of other parties.
The increasing rhetoric between Rajbhar and Nishad has increased the problems of BJP. Political experts believe that if the dispute is not resolved in time, the Samajwadi Party will try to take advantage of it.
Why did Atrauli seat become a political battlefield?
Atrauli assembly seat of Azamgarh is counted among the important political seats of Purvanchal. Here Rajbhar, Nishad, Yadav, Dalit and Muslim voters influence the election results. Based on this social equation, Omprakash Rajbhar is saying that his son’s claim is strong.
He says that there is a good number of Rajbhar community in this area and if Subhaspa gets the seat then the chances of victory of the alliance will be stronger. In the 2022 assembly elections, Atrauli seat went to Nishad Party under the BJP alliance.
Nishad Party candidates lost the election, but the contest was fought by a margin of about 17 thousand votes. On this basis, Nishad Party claims that victory can be achieved this time on the basis of organization and booth level preparation. In such a situation, the party does not seem to be in favor of leaving this seat.

Sanjay Nishad said – the decorum of alliance should be followed
After Rajbhar’s statement, Nishad Party chief Dr. Sanjay Nishad publicly expressed his displeasure. He said that all the parties involved in the alliance should follow decorum and it is not appropriate to publicly claim a seat that is part of another alliance party. He says that the decision on seats will be taken by the top leadership of the alliance, hence the allies should maintain discipline.
The biggest challenge before BJP
The Atrauli dispute is not just a matter of one seat for the BJP, but is becoming a test of maintaining coordination within the entire NDA. BJP will have to make seat distribution among SubhaSP, Nishad Party, Apna Dal (S) and other allies in such a way that dissatisfaction does not arise in any party.
Political analysts believe that if the allies continue to make similar claims against each other on public platforms, then there will be confusion among the workers and this can have a direct impact on the election preparations.
Claim may increase on many seats of Purvanchal
Atrauli is not the only seat. On many assembly seats of Purvanchal, SubhaSP, Nishad Party and other allies can demand tickets as per their social basis. The discussion regarding the claim on many seats in districts like Mau, Ghazipur, Ballia, Jaunpur, Sant Kabirnagar, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Deoria and Kushinagar has also started intensifying.
The influence of many influential local leaders and powerful faces in the politics of Purvanchal continues even today. If disagreements over seats in the alliance increase, many regional leaders may also try to strengthen their political ground. This is likely to make the contest on many seats more interesting.

SP may get a political opportunity
Samajwadi Party is already busy strengthening its support base in Purvanchal. If the dispute over seats increases among the NDA allies, then SP can make it a big election issue and take it among the voters. Political analysts believe that the increasing tussle in the alliance can become an opportunity for the opposition.
This political fight that started on Atrauli seat is no longer limited to just one assembly constituency. This is being considered as an indication of seat distribution of the entire NDA in the coming days. The biggest challenge before the BJP will be to keep the alliance united by balancing the ambitions and political claims of the allies. If this balance is disturbed then the opposition will not delay in making it an election issue.
