Massive fire in Ahmedabad firecracker factory, 8 dead, more than 15 injured

Ahmedabad Fire Accident: A massive fire broke out in a firecracker factory in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Saturday. 8 people died in a fire in a factory located in Mahmoodpura area, while more than 15 people were injured. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

According to the information, this accident happened at the Talent Fireworks Factory located on Ramol-Gatrad Road in Vastral area of ​​Ahmedabad. Suddenly a fire broke out in the factory in the afternoon. Due to the firecrackers, the fire took a terrible form in no time and engulfed the entire complex.

According to eyewitnesses, there was a loud explosion after the fire, which created chaos in the surrounding area. Many people died on the spot in the accident, while many were injured.

Factory operation even after license cancellation

According to the police, the factory was being operated by a person named Mehul Dodiya. Joint Police Commissioner Jaipal Singh said that the license of the factory had already been cancelled, yet illegal work was going on here. He said that after the fire, RAF soldiers first reached the spot for relief and rescue operations.

Fire brigade brought the fire under control

As soon as information about the incident was received, fire department teams reached the spot and after much effort the fire was brought under control. Chief Fire Officer Amit Dogre said that the fire has been completely extinguished and the injured have been taken to the hospital. He said that the condition of some of the injured remains critical.

As soon as information about the accident was received, Ahmedabad Mayor Hitesh Barot and many officials including Municipal Corporation Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani reached the spot. The Mayor said that the injured are being treated and the accident is being investigated. According to the administration, the factory was operating in a very confined and unsafe space. Considering the magnitude of the fire, the death toll is expected to increase.
