Actress Bhumi Pednekar said in the video, “I saw a video on the internet of a young girl who was part of the protest giving an interview, and she looked visibly broken and shaken. A video of her went viral, and since then she has been receiving rape and death threats, even her mother has suffered the same consequences. This is unacceptable. We cannot bully a young girl. We cannot instill fear in a young child just because we disagree with their opinion.”

The actress continued, “As women, we face a lot of harassment, and as a public figure, I’ve been through that. And I can’t tell you how profound and long-lasting the impact on someone’s mental health is. We all just want this country to progress, and when we unite and demand the right things, in the right way, we’ll see true development. I just wanted to think that.”
