Khamenei Labels US Great Satan, Calls Trump Signature On MOU Worthless

Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, launched a scathing verbal attack on the United States on Saturday, labeling the nation as the Great Satan and declaring that the signature of US President Donald Trump on a 14-point Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is completely useless. In a stern message addressed to the Iranian nation, Khamenei emphasized that the American leadership’s commitments hold no value and are entirely devoid of credibility, while his remarks come at a time of heightened friction between Tehran and Washington, following the collapse of diplomatic efforts intended to de-escalate hostilities in the region.

The Worthlessness of American Signatures

During his address, the Iranian leader specifically targeted the 14-point MOU, asserting that the signature of the American President carries no weight. Khamenei accused the United States of repeatedly violating agreements made with Iran, which he claimed has once again exposed Washington’s inherent dishonesty, irrationality, and unreliability. He stated that the repeated breaches of the MOU, which had been signed by the presidents of both Iran and the United States, have brought a fundamental truth to the forefront: that American promises are hollow, while according to Khamenei, coercion, dictatorship, and cruelty are integral components of American ideology and principles, and the recent actions of the US have revealed its true, unmasked face to the world.

Warnings of Unforgettable Lessons

Addressing the ongoing military tensions, Khamenei issued a direct warning to Washington, stating that any further escalation would come at a heavy price for the United States. He declared that if the US continues its military strikes against Iran, the nation and its Resistance Front are prepared to teach the American enemy lessons they will never forget. Khamenei noted that as the American enemy attempts to increase confrontation, they will only face greater losses and humiliation. He praised the bravery of Islamic fighters and the courage of the people in the southern regions, who have been most affected by the recent tensions, citing them as examples of Iran’s unwavering resolve to face its enemies.

Escalating Conflict in West Asia

The Supreme Leader’s statements coincide with a significant surge in tension between Iran and the United States. This escalation follows the failure of an MOU signed last month, which was intended to end hostilities and pave the way for further negotiations. The collapse of this agreement has reignited conflict across West Asia, while reports indicate that the United States has conducted strikes on both military and civilian targets within Iran. In response, the Islamic Republic has targeted American bases located in the Gulf region. Khamenei urged the Iranian people to remain vigilant and continue supporting the country’s institutions to protect national interests. He called for national unity among citizens and government officials to defend the dignity and freedom of the country against what he described as a cunning and criminal American enemy.
