Uprising in Iran and death of American soldiers, situation in the middle

Tension between America and Iran is continuously increasing in the Middle East. America launched new air strikes on Iran early Sunday morning. US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that this action was taken on the orders of President Donald Trump. These attacks have come at a time when two American soldiers were killed in Jordan during ballistic missile and drone attacks by Iran a few hours ago.

According to CENTCOM, two American soldiers lost their lives in the attack in Jordan. One soldier is still missing, while four others were injured, who have been discharged from the hospital after treatment. The US Army said that the identities of the two dead soldiers will not be made public until their families are informed.

What was the purpose of the American attack?

CENTCOM said that the main objective of this military operation was to weaken Iran’s ability to pose a threat to commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
