Mumbai Six people died in a bizarre road accident that took place in the early hours of Monday on Samriddhi Highway in Salod in Wardha district of Maharashtra. The dead included four people from the same family and the driver and cleaner of the other vehicle. After receiving the information, teams of Pulgaon Police and Highway Police reached the spot.
Wardha District Superintendent of Police Saurabh Aggarwal told reporters that there was a traffic jam on the Samriddhi Highway on the way to Nagpur after an ethanol truck overturned. Therefore, vehicles were slowly being moved to the other lane. Meanwhile, an Eicher truck full of chillies coming from behind hit a car hard. The collision was so strong that the car got buried under the truck. During this time the truck caught fire. The truck driver and the cleaner died after getting burnt in the flames. Four people traveling in a car buried under the truck died on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as car occupants Ankush Raut, Rajesh Tipley, Jhanvi Tipley and Sushma Tipley, Eicher truck driver Sanjay Kumar and cleaner Samarjeet Pal. Sanjay is resident of Dhanjipur, Uttar Pradesh and Samarjeet Pal is resident of Gadharianpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Local people told that one of the two daughters of Rajesh Tiple, resident of Wardha, was admitted in MBA. On Sunday he had gone to drop his daughter to Pune. He left for Wardha late on Sunday night, but four members of his family died in an accident on Samriddhi Highway in Wardha.
