Bihar’s ‘Kanishk Narayan’ becomes Britain’s first ‘AI’ minister, wave of happiness in Muzaffarpur
London/Muzaffarpur. Indian-origin Labor Party MP ‘Kanishk Narayan’ has created a new history in global politics. In a major administrative reshuffle in Britain’s newly appointed Andy Burnham government, ‘Kanishk Narayan’ has been appointed the country’s first cabinet-level Artificial Intelligence Minister. With this distinction, Kanishka has become Britain’s first full-time ‘AI’ minister. As soon as this news came, there was a wave of happiness in his native state Bihar, especially in Muzaffarpur district.

The journey started from Muzaffarpur
The ancestral village of ‘Kanishk Narayan’ is situated in Goral of Vaishali district. He was born in November 1989 in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. His early schooling was from the prestigious ‘Prabhat Tara School’, Muzaffarpur. His grandfather was one of the founding members of the renowned SKJ Law College, Muzaffarpur. Let us tell you that when Kanishk was about 12 years old, his family had settled in ‘Wales’, Britain.
From Oxford to Stanford and then to the British Parliament
Kanishk took his graduation degree from the world famous ‘Oxford University’ and then did MBA from ‘Stanford University’ of America. Before entering politics he served in the civil service and served as a senior adviser to the British government in ministries such as environment and trade. In the British general elections of 2024, Kanishk Narayan had won a historic victory from the ‘Vale of Glamorgan’ seat in Wales. He became the first Black people and minorities MP to be elected to the British Parliament from the Wales region.

Will take command of digital future as cabinet minister
Let us tell you that before this, Kanishka was working as Junior Minister of AI and Online Security in the Keir Starmer government. In view of his growing influence and expertise in the technology sector, the new Burnham government has upgraded the post to cabinet level. As AI Minister, Kanishk Narayan will now be given full responsibility for taking Britain’s AI strategies forward globally, ensuring digital security and developing new technologies.
Deep attachment to motherland
Despite spending more than 20 years in Britain, Kanishk still has not forgotten his roots. Earlier this year, he returned to his motherland Bihar after nearly 24 years. During this time, he was given a grand civic reception in Muzaffarpur, where he assured all possible cooperation for the bright future of the youth of Bihar and India. On this historic achievement of his, the citizens and politicians of Bihar have also sent many good wishes and congratulatory messages.
