Congress and NSUI create ruckus in Gairsain, demand resignation from Education Minister

Gairsain. Angered by the recruitment scams and paper leak incidents unfolding in the country, the students of Youth Congress and NSUI expressed strong protest in Gairsain. Students burnt the effigy of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at the main intersection. Slogans were raised loudly against the central government and examination agencies. The protesting youth raised serious questions on the functioning of the exam conducting agencies.

Irregularities revealed in national level examinations like NEET, JEE and UGC-NET have broken the confidence of crores of youth. The youth put the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the dock. NTA has proved to be a complete failure in maintaining the confidentiality and fairness of the examination system. The future of the youth is in crisis.

Cases of paper leak have already come up in many state level recruitment examinations including UKSSSC in Uttarakhand. Strict anti-copying law is in force in the state. Despite strict laws, recurrence of such incidents shows a major failure of the system. Taking moral responsibility, the students demanded the immediate resignation of the Education Minister. Demands for strict action and fair investigation were made against the culprits.

The protesters demanded judicial review of the functioning of NTA. Strict legal action should be taken against the responsible officials. The issue of providing justice and appropriate assistance to the students and their families affected by the examination irregularities was raised from the platform.

Nagar Panchayat President Gairsain Mohan Bhandari did not consider this movement as just a recruitment or examination issue. This is a question of the future of crores of youth of the country and the credibility of the entire education system. He called upon all the youth of the state and the country to unite in this campaign and raise their voice against corruption and paper leaks.

District Congress General Secretary Pradeep Kunwar made a scathing attack on the 12-year tenure of the BJP government. Continuous paper leaks and recruitment scams from 2014 to 2026 are playing with the future of the students. He warned that if Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan does not resign, the Youth Congress will launch a big mass movement in the coming times.

Congress city president Kunwar Rawat blamed the central and state governments for ruining the future of the youth. Students prepare for competitive examinations by working hard day and night throughout the year. Right at the time of examination the paper gets leaked. This is spoiling the hard work of the students.

In Haldwani also, the anger of Congress workers was visible on the streets on Tuesday. There was a strong demonstration in Buddha Park against the lathi charge on the protesting students in Delhi. Congress workers and students burnt the effigy of the central government.

Slogans were raised against the Education Minister in Buddha Park, demanding an impartial investigation into the entire matter. The attempt to suppress the voice of the students through lathicharge was strongly condemned. Congress raised the demand to seriously consider the demands of the students.
