Weather Alert – Warning Very Heavy Rain Alert in 18 States within Next 6 Hours, Check Full Forecast

Weather Alert: A spell of rain is set to continue across North India, including Delhi-NCR, for the next week. Residents of Delhi-NCR have found significant relief from the scorching heat due to the rainfall. Cloudy skies and spells of light rain are expected to persist today, July 22.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for 18 states—including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Chandigarh—in anticipation of rainfall. Similar weather conditions are expected to prevail in Delhi on July 23 and 24. Additionally, cloudy skies accompanied by light rain are forecast for Noida and Ghaziabad.

Meanwhile, the flood situation in Assam continues to worsen. Daily life has been severely disrupted across several districts as rivers overflow their banks. Reports indicate that 21 people have lost their lives in flood-related incidents over the past 24 hours. Thousands of families have been forced to seek shelter in relief camps. Administrative authorities, along with NDRF and SDRF teams, are actively conducting relief and rescue operations.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rainfall alert for July 23 covering Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. A rainfall warning has been issued for Western Uttar Pradesh from July 25 to 27. An alert has also been issued for Western Rajasthan for rainfall through July 27, while rain is expected in Eastern Rajasthan over the coming week.

Rain is expected in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on July 22–23.

A rainfall warning has been issued for Himachal Pradesh from July 23 to 27.

An alert regarding rainfall has been issued for Uttarakhand from July 22 to 27.

Rain is expected in Western Uttar Pradesh from July 22 to 27.

A rainfall warning has been issued for Eastern Uttar Pradesh for July 22 and July 26–27. Rain is expected in Western Rajasthan from July 22 to 25.

A rain alert has been issued for several districts in Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Shamli, Baghpat, Bijnor, Agra, Mathura, Rampur, Bareilly, Aligarh, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, and Sonbhadra. According to the IMD, heavy rain is likely in Western and Eastern UP today. Eastern UP may witness rain on July 23–24 and heavy rain on July 26–27.

Rain alert for Bihar

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for thunderstorms and rain in several areas of Bihar over the next 24–48 hours. The IMD has issued a heavy rain alert for several districts, including Patna, Rohtas, Nawada, and Kaimur. A ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for 13 districts of Bihar, including Patna, Gaya, Rohtas, Nawada, Kaimur, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Buxar, Vaishali, Samastipur, and Begusarai.

Weather in Eastern India today

An alert has been issued for heavy rain at several locations in Bihar between July 24 and 26. Rain alerts are also in place for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (July 22–25) and for Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha (until July 27).
