Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained and lathicharged at J.P. Nadda’s residence on the pretext of talks: Abhijeet Deepke.
New Delhi. Amid the ongoing agitation over the NEET controversy, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has made serious allegations against the Central Government and Delhi Police. Party founder Abhijit Deepke and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka claimed that their representatives, who were called for talks with Union Health Minister JP Nadda, were allegedly put under house arrest. Also, the police used force on the protesting students.

CJP founder Abhijit Deepke alleged that the government first promised talks but then got the protesters lathi-charged. He says that party representatives Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka were kept at JP Nadda’s residence for several hours and during this time they could not even be contacted. Questioning the police action, Deepke said that if the aim was to stop the march then other options like water cannon could have been adopted. But tear gas and lathicharge were used on the protesters, injuring many students. The CJP founder also alleged that male policemen misbehaved with women protesters during the action. He demanded a fair investigation into the matter and action against the responsible officials.
Announcement to continue the fast
Deepke said that Sonam Wangchuk, associated with the movement, will not end his fast for the time being. According to him, being hurt by the police action taken during the protest, he has decided to continue his fast. Also CJP made it clear that the protests will continue and the next program will be announced soon.
