Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma seek blessings from Premanand Ji Maharaj in Vrindavan; slammed over silence on CJP protests

All eyes are on the CJP vs Delhi Police clash that began with the NEET paper leak row. Time and again, the protest, which was initially about the students’ re-exam fiasco, suicides, and the hardships they faced after the alleged paper leak, soon became a politically driven platform where, according to critics, not a single day was spent talking about the NEET paper leak. From AAP leaders participating to anti-national slogans and threats, some even said they wanted India to be like Nepal and that they would burn Parliament.

When CJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke and others asked students to come forward and march towards Parliament, the Delhi Police had denied permission as it is a highly sensitive area and no one is allowed there due to security reasons. Despite that, they marched, which led to scuffles on both sides, including lathi-charge, stone-pelting, vandalism, and much more. The protest went out of hand for both sides.

Amid the ongoing protests, several celebrities have slammed the Delhi Police over the lathi-charge on students. However, many also called out Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli for remaining silent on the matter and not reacting.

Adding to the ongoing chatter, photos of cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma visiting Premanand Ji Maharaj in Vrindavan on Wednesday have surfaced on social media.

Several photos and videos show Virat and Anushka walking hand in hand in Vrindavan as they exited the premises. Virat was seen barefoot and wearing a tulsi mala.

Virat and Anushka had covered their faces with masks during their visit. Virat was wearing a brown shirt paired with beige-coloured pants, while Anushka was seen in a white and blue kurta set with a dupatta wrapped around her head. Both Virat and Anushka had tilaks on their foreheads. Virat also greeted the photographers.

Netizens weren’t impressed with Virat and Anushka not speaking up for the students who were allegedly injured during the lathi-charge.

A fan wrote on X, “He don’t have SPINE to talk about the youth & ongoing protest.. Utter Shame..”
Another fan wrote, “What about supporting the Jantar Mantar protests since he is from Delhi…!” Other comments echoed similar sentiments.

One fan questioned Virat’s influence and wrote, “You have achieved everything man, you were born in Delhi, people in this country worship you. Grow a spine and stand for the students.” Another comment read, “Ek baar apne ghr Delhi bhi jakar dekh students ka kya haal ho rha hai (Once you could have gone home to Delhi and see how the students are doing).” Meanwhile, some fans defended Kohli and maintained that he remains unaffected by such criticism. One comment read, “Is he ragebaiting his haters?”

At the time, the spiritual guru spoke to them about enlightenment and said, “Make it your goal that even if in this life or the next one, you decide, but I want to meet you. You have shown all the happiness in life; I don’t want that now, I want you. And if I get to see you, all the happiness will come along with you at your feet. Stay joyful and happy.”

Anushka replied with a smile, “Hum aapke hain Maharaj ji, aap humare (We are yours, you are ours).” The spiritual guru responded, “Hum sab Shree ji ke hain (We all belong to God).”

Anushka and Virat have been married since 2017. The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Italy before hosting a grand, star-studded reception in India. They are parents to daughter Vamika and son Akaay and have reportedly moved to the UK. However, the couple has remained tight-lipped about their residence outside India.
