Chennai: Production house Hombale Films extended warm birthday wishes to actor Suriya on Thursday, expressing excitement about collaborating with him on his upcoming film directed by T.J. Gnanavel. The makers described the actor as a “powerhouse of talent” and said they were looking forward to an “extraordinary journey” together on what is tentatively being referred to as Suriya 48.
The film marks Suriya’s reunion with director T.J. Gnanavel after the critically acclaimed Jai Bhim (2021) and is being produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner.

On the occasion of Suriya’s birthday, Hombale Films posted a special message on X, praising the actor’s contribution to Indian cinema.
The production house wrote:

The message further fuelled anticipation for the film, which is expected to be one of Suriya’s major upcoming projects.
Suriya reunites with Jai Bhim director
The untitled film will reunite Suriya and T.J. Gnanavel for the first time since Jai Bhim, which received widespread acclaim for its storytelling and performances.
Produced by Hombale Films, the project also stars Kayadu Lohar as the female lead. While details about the story remain under wraps, expectations are high given the successful collaboration between the actor and director in the past.
Busy slate ahead for Suriya
Apart from Suriya 48, the actor has a packed lineup of films.
He is currently working on a yet-to-be-titled project with Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan, which marks his 47th film. Reports suggest Suriya will play a police officer in the film, which also stars Nazriya Nazim and Naslen in key roles.
Another major project in the pipeline is Vishwanath and Sons, directed by Venky Atluri. The film features Mamitha Baiju as the female lead, while Radikaa Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon play important supporting roles.
Hombale Films’ upcoming projects
Hombale Films also has an ambitious lineup of films in development.
Its upcoming slate includes Mahavatar Parshuram, Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, and an untitled project starring Hrithik Roshan.
