Government’s action amid CJP Protest: Higher Education Secretary removed from post
New Delhi: Amidst the students’ agitation on the paper leak issue, the Central Government on Thursday made an important administrative reshuffle by transferring Higher Education Secretary Vineet Joshi and appointing Nareshpal Gangwar as the new Secretary.
The Committee on Appointments of the Cabinet has removed Vineet Joshi from the Education Ministry and made him the Secretary of the Panchayati Raj Ministry. Nareshpal Gangwar, who was brought in his place, is a 1994 batch officer of the Rajasthan cadre of the Indian Administrative Service and till now was the Secretary in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
The government has also appointed PK Anil Kumar, who was till now serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development, as School Education Secretary. Along with this, transfers of secretaries have also been made in some other ministries.
