Truck and bus collide head-on, 4 injured, bus driver accused of being drunk
Indore. A private travels bus and a truck collided head-on on AB Road late Thursday night in Lasudia police station area of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh.
Four people including the bus driver, conductor, cleaner and truck driver were injured in the accident. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
According to the police, the accident took place on AB Road in front of Lasudia police station. According to preliminary information, the Balaji Travels bus was trying to take a U-turn from the cut of the divider.
During this time, he had a massive collision with a truck coming from the front. The collision was so severe that the front part of the bus was completely damaged. Immediately after the accident, local people pulled out the driver and employees trapped in the bus.
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and sent the injured to the hospital with the help of an ambulance. Police have inspected the incident site and started investigation into the cause of the accident.
Eyewitnesses allege that the bus driver was in an intoxicated state and suddenly turned the bus through the divider, due to which the accident occurred. However, the police have not yet confirmed this claim.
Officials say the matter is being investigated and all aspects will be examined, including medical examination of the driver, if necessary.
Traffic was affected for an hour
After the accident, traffic on AB Road was affected for about an hour as the damaged bus remained standing on the road. Later, with the help of a crane, the bus was removed and traffic was normalized. The police is investigating the actual causes of the accident.
