He wrote that the resignation of the Education Minister is an acknowledgment that accountability cannot be postponed indefinitely in a democracy. This resignation comes after weeks long of peaceful struggle by students, parents and citizens raising a strong, peaceful and determined voice across the country.

He wrote that the deep failures that have brought us here must be corrected with transparent reforms, institutional accountability and a pledge that the future of no Indian youth will ever again be put at risk. The students who took to the streets, expressed their views openly and stood peacefully have the right to know that this is the beginning of reforms, not the end.
