EPFO Interest Credit: Check whether 8.25% interest has come to your PF account or not, sitting at home like this

Business Desk – EPFO Interest Credit: There is good news for crores of employees across the country. Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has started crediting 8.25 percent annual interest in PF accounts for the financial year. The interest amount has also started appearing in the accounts of many account holders.

In such a situation, if you also want to know whether interest has been deposited in your EPF account or not, then there is no need to go anywhere for this. You can check your PF balance and interest status in a few minutes through facilities like UMANG app, e-passbook or SMS sitting at home.

How to check PF account interest through UMANG app

The easiest way to access EPFO services is through UMANG app. Through this you can see your PF account balance, passbook and interest information.

First of all download UMANG app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store in your mobile. After this, login with the same mobile number, which is registered in your EPFO account.

After login, go to Service Directory and select the option of EPFO. Click on View Passbook here. Now enter your UAN (Universal Account Number). After this OTP will come on your registered mobile number. As soon as you enter the OTP, your passbook will open, in which complete information about total balance, deposit amount and interest credit will be visible.

You can also check balance through SMS

If you do not have internet, EPFO’s SMS facility can also be used. For this, send SMS EPFOHO UAN HIN to 7738299899 from the mobile number linked to your UAN.

Within some time, PF account balance and other information will be sent to your mobile through message. Keep in mind that SMS has to be sent from the same mobile number which is linked to your EPFO account.

Complete information will also be available from e-passbook

Interest and balance can also be checked through e-passbook available on the official website of EPFO.

For this, go to EPFO portal and login with your UAN and password. After this, by going to the Passbook section, it can be seen when how much contribution was deposited in the account and how much interest was added.

How does EPFO add interest?

EPFO calculates interest every month based on the running balance in your account. Although interest is calculated throughout the year, its amount is credited to the account simultaneously at the end of the financial year.

At present EPFO is giving 8.25 percent annual interest to its members. Once the interest is credited to your account, its entry starts appearing in your passbook.

What to do if there is no interest?

If interest is not visible in your account yet, there is no need to panic. EPFO does not deposit interest in all accounts simultaneously. This process is completed in a phased manner. In such a situation, interest appears earlier in some accounts and later in others.

Therefore, keep checking your status from time to time through UMANG app, e-passbook or SMS. If interest is not updated for a long time, EPFO helpline or your employer can be contacted.
