Captaincy changed after Bangladesh series
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) removed Shan Masood from the captaincy in May 2026 after the 0-2 Test series defeat against Bangladesh. After this the board once again expressed confidence in Babar Azam. After West Indies, Pakistan now also has to undertake a challenging tour of England. Abdullah Fazal injured, Saud Shakeel returns
Meanwhile, the Pakistan team has also suffered a big setback. Young batsman Abdullah Fazal has been ruled out of the first Test due to a lower back injury. He suffered the injury during a practice session. In his place, Saud Shakeel has been included in the team for the second Test and the three-match Test series against England. Saud was earlier out of the Caribbean tour due to fitness and poor form, but now he will get another chance to prove himself.
