Navi Mumbai. Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) being the busiest port, work has been started on the second port at Wadhwan Bunder in the coming time with a budget of Rs. 76200 crore. Giving the above information, JNPA Chairman Gaurav Dayal said that this work will be completed in two phases, in the first phase the construction work will be completed from 2026 to 2030 and then from 2030 to 2033.
With the construction of this port, import and export will be facilitated due to saving of considerable time in loading and unloading and huge amount of money will also be saved. He further informed that for the last one year, digitalization is being done in the direction of making the operational system at the port state-of-the-art, under which digital automation, automod system ship operation will be done.
Mr. Dayal said that India’s trade with the world’s countries is growing rapidly, so in such a situation, there is a traffic problem while transporting goods from the port by road. In such a situation, we are building a second link road from the terminal DP World Terminus NSITC Port to Atal Setu Marg. The DPR of this project with a budget of 2000 thousand crores is being prepared and this work will be completed by the year 2028-29. He said that today import and export is being done from this port with two hundred countries including America and Europe and in the coming time, the possibility of import and export from many more countries will be explored.
