Tezzbuzz Desk – After the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, a major development has come to light in the ongoing student movement regarding the NEET 2026 controversy. After the meeting of representatives of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) with Union Minister JP Nadda and Dr. Jitendra Singh at the Constitution Club, the organization announced to end the ongoing strike at Jantar Mantar. CJP said that the government has agreed to their major demands, after which it has been decided to withdraw the agitation.
In the joint press conference held after the meeting, CJP leader Saurav Das said that the first demand of the organization was the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, which has been fulfilled by the government. He said that the second demand was regarding FIRs registered in cases related to the movement, on which the government has also taken a positive stance.
Saurav Das said that the government will soon provide copies of all the registered FIRs to the organization. He said that within the next three to four days, documents related to these cases will be shared and further action will be taken as per the legal process.
He also said that the government has assured that no retaliatory action will be taken against any protesters or CJP organizers involved in the movement. On the basis of this confidence, an appeal has been made to all the protesters sitting at Jantar Mantar to end the protest peacefully and return to their homes.
CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said that the organization had demanded a compensation of ₹1 crore for the families affected by the NEET controversy. According to him, the government has said that as much honorary compensation as possible will be given to the eligible families under the existing rules and legal provisions.
Ranka said that during the meeting, a five-point demand letter was also handed over to the government, which includes suggestions for comprehensive reforms in the examination system and education system. He said that there will be another meeting with the government after about four weeks, in which these reforms will be discussed in detail. If the government takes positive steps on these issues also, then the movement will be considered completely over.
Union Minister JP Nadda said that there was a long and positive conversation with CJP representatives. He said that in the meeting, matters related to the movement, FIR, not taking action against the protesters, compensation and demands related to examination reforms were discussed in detail.
JP Nadda said that the government will provide copies of FIRs registered in cases related to the movement and no retaliatory action will be taken against the protesters. He also said that the government is sensitive towards the affected families and will try to provide maximum possible assistance as per the rules.
This agreement between the government and CJP after the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan is being seen as an important milestone in the long student movement following the NEET 2026 controversy. Now all eyes will be on what further steps the government takes regarding examination reforms and changes in the education system.
