India’s 18-year-old squash player Anahat Singh created history on Saturday. She easily defeated Egypt’s Ruqayya Salem in the women’s singles final of the World Junior Squash Championships to become the country’s first world junior champion.
Anahat won the match 11-3, 11-7, 11-9. This is a huge achievement for India. Anahat Singh has proved to be the best young squash player ever. Last year, in the same tournament, she had reached the semi-finals and won the bronze medal.

This time Anahat Singh performed brilliantly in the entire tournament and won the title. Anahat defeated Habiba Rizk of Egypt in the quarter-finals and reached the final by defeating another Egyptian player 3-1 in the semi-finals.
