Prayagraj. The Prayagraj unit of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has achieved significant success in its campaign against illegal liquor smuggling. The team arrested Ajay Jain, a long-time absconding liquor smuggler carrying a reward of ₹50,000, from Punjab. A case related to liquor smuggling was registered against the accused at Nawabganj police station in Prayagraj, and he was constantly changing locations to avoid police arrest.
The STF received information that the accused was hiding in Punjab. Following this, the Prayagraj unit gathered information about his activities and possible locations. Following the information, the team raided Punjab and arrested Ajay Jain. Following the arrest, the accused was handed over to the relevant police for further legal action as per the rules.
