Online Fraud In Name Of SIR: If SIR form is filled and if you call as BLO and ask for OTP then be careful, it is not a mistake that the bank account will become empty; Know how to avoid it?
New Delhi. Online fraudsters come up with a new method every time. Now such fraud has made Special Intensive Verification of Voters (SIR) a weapon to empty people’s bank accounts. If you have filled the SIR form or are going to fill it and someone asks for OTP over the phone by pretending to be a BLO, then be careful! You are not mistaken that it will not take long for the bank account to be emptied.

The Chief Electoral Officers of the states where SIR is being conducted have cautioned the people. In fact, in the states where SIR is being conducted, the fraudsters committing online fraud are calling themselves as Booth Level Officers i.e. BLOs. These thugs say on the phone that after submitting the SIR form, you will have received an OTP, if you give it then the form will be submitted otherwise your name will be removed from the voter list. Those who fall prey to BLA fraud are facing a huge loss of lakhs of rupees. These thugs are also targeting those people who have already submitted the SIR form. Election Commission officials have cautioned that no BLO asks for OTP for SIR from anyone.

Now let us tell you what to do if someone pretending to be a BLO asks you for OTP over the phone. First check your mobile phone whether any OTP has come on it or not. If OTP has come, do not give it at all. If the caller says that the SIR form will not be submitted without OTP, then do not panic. Even if he says that he is calling BLO and if he does not give OTP, his name will be removed from the voter list, then also do not tell him the OTP. After disconnecting his phone, immediately lodge a written complaint with the police station or online on the cyber crime portal. So that that fraud can be arrested.
