There will be a stir in vehicles smaller than 4-metres! Tata and Mahindra are bringing 3 new powerful SUVs, see the complete list

Automobile Desk: ​The popularity of compact and sub-4 meter SUV segments is continuously increasing in the Indian automobile market. To capitalize on this growth and provide new options to the customers, the country’s two giants Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra have made major preparations.

According to reports, both the companies are going to launch 3 new and modern SUVs on Indian roads in the coming years (2026-2027).

This list includes Mahindra’s Vision S to Tata’s Scarlet and Next-Gen Nexon. Let us know what is going to be special in these three upcoming vehicles.

Mahindra Vision S

​Mahindra is going to play a new bet in the compact SUV market with its all-new Vision S.

Design and Look: This vehicle will be based on the new-generation design language of the company. Its overall look will be quite boxy, muscular and off-road oriented.

​Features: It can be given a new front grille, sharp LED headlights, sporty wheel arches, flush door handles, panoramic sunroof and new LED tail-lights.

​Engine and Platform: The most important thing is that it will be built on Mahindra’s new flexible platform (NU_IQ), on which petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric (EV) powertrains can be easily fitted. It could be introduced in the market in late 2026 or early 2027.

​Tata Scarlet

​Tata Motors is also working on a new compact SUV codenamed Scarlet to strengthen its hold in the sub-4 meter segment.

Design Inspiration: This car will be built on a monocoque platform and its exterior can be seen with many premium design elements inspired by Tata’s famous ‘Sierra’.

​Power and Performance: According to media reports, it can have the option of 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and a more powerful turbo engine. Also, the option of diesel engine can also be retained in select variants.

Launch Timeline: This SUV is likely to be launched in the Indian market by the second half of 2027.

Next-Gen Tata Nexon

Tata Nexon, one of the country’s best-selling SUVs, is now preparing to enter its new avatar i.e. Next-Gen.

What will be new: The new generation Nexon will be introduced with a completely new platform and new exterior design.

​Cabin and Safety: It will have more space, modern technology and a very premium interior cabin than before. Many advanced updates will also be added to safety features and infotainment system.

​Engine: However, the company may continue with its existing and reliable 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options.
