JSW MG Motor has increased the price of the Majestor Savvy 2WD by Rs 1.50 lakh, barely over two months after the flagship SUV went on sale. Both the six-seat and seven-seat 2WD versions now cost Rs 42.49 lakh, ex-showroom, up from Rs 40.99 lakh. The Savvy 4WD remains unchanged at Rs 44.99 lakh.
That price revision changes the value equation inside the range. Earlier, the step from 2WD to 4WD cost Rs 4 lakh. It now costs Rs 2.50 lakh. For a customer already spending more than Rs 42 lakh ex-showroom, the 4WD therefore becomes easier to justify, especially because it adds hardware that is central to the Majestor’s positioning as a large, off-road-capable SUV.
The Majestor is currently offered only in the fully loaded Savvy trim. The 2WD can be had with six or seven seats, while the 4WD is seven-seat only. With the new prices, the six-seat 2WD and seven-seat 2WD are both Rs 42.49 lakh, while the 4WD is Rs 44.99 lakh.
The 4WD version adds an advanced four-wheel-drive system, 10 off-road modes, crawl control and front, centre and rear differential locks. Those are meaningful additions for owners who actually travel on broken tracks, loose surfaces or steep terrain. The 2WD remains the simpler choice for buyers who primarily use the Majestor on highways and in cities, but its price advantage is now much smaller.
The basic mechanical package is otherwise common. A 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel produces 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm and is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The Majestor measures 5,046 mm long, 2,016 mm wide and 1,870 mm tall, with a 2,950 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is 219 mm, while the claimed water-wading depth is 810 mm.
MG has not used the price revision to change the equipment list. The Savvy remains heavily equipped with dual 12.3-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker JBL audio system, three-zone climate control, dual wireless phone chargers and a 220V power outlet.
The front seats are ventilated and get massage functions, while the driver seat is electrically adjustable with memory. Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold and a column-mounted gear selector are also part of the package.
MG also offers a five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, five years of roadside assistance and five labour-free services. That coverage is relevant at this price point because the Majestor sits above the Gloster in MG’s line-up and competes with large ladder-frame SUVs where long-term ownership costs matter.
The Majestor was launched in late May 2026 at Rs 40.99 lakh for the 2WD and Rs 44.99 lakh for the 4WD. Dealer dispatches began in May, when MG supplied 424 units. Dispatches rose to 587 units in June, a 38 per cent month-on-month increase. MG’s overall wholesales then reached a record 8,158 units in July, although the company has not separately published a July Majestor number.
The Rs 1.50 lakh increase therefore arrives while the model is still establishing itself. It also means the 2WD is no longer the obvious value pick it was at launch.
For buyers who need six seats, there is no decision to make because that configuration remains 2WD only. For seven-seat customers, however, the new Rs 2.50 lakh gap deserves a closer look.
The 4WD adds substantial capability for roughly 5.9 per cent more than the seven-seat 2WD’s ex-showroom price. Unless the vehicle will spend nearly all its time on tarmac, the revised pricing makes the top version considerably more tempting.
