Jerusalem. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said before leaving for America that Iran will be the most important issue in his meeting with President Donald Trump.
He said that ensuring Israel’s security and expanding the scope of peace in the current regional circumstances is the top priority of his government.
As he departed for Washington from Nevatim air base in southern Israel, Netanyahu said the talks with Trump were a “great honor and a great responsibility” for him. “In these complex circumstances, it is necessary to move forward with determination and prudence,” he said.
Netanyahu also wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ that his government aims to strengthen Israel’s security and expand the scope of peace in the region. He said that the two leaders will discuss various issues, of which Iran will be the most important topic.
This will be the seventh meeting of the two leaders in Washington after the beginning of President Trump’s second term. This meeting is taking place at a time when tension has increased in West Asia due to the recent military attack by America on Iran and subsequent retaliatory action by Iran on American allies Arab and Gulf countries.
During his US visit, Netanyahu will also attend the funeral of US Senator Lindsey Graham. He has described Graham as “one of Israel’s closest friends.”
