Transport organizations in Delhi protest against E20 petrol, announce demonstration on 4th August

Transport organizations of Delhi have announced to open a front against ethanol mixed petrol i.e. E20 fuel. Various transport organizations under the leadership of Delhi Taxi and Tourist Transporters and Tour Operators Association will march towards Parliament on August 4. The main demand of the organizations is that the government should reconsider the decision to make E20 fuel mandatory and it should be withdrawn.

Complaints are being received across the country against E20 fuel: Sanjay Samrat

Association President Sanjay Samrat said that complaints of problems regarding ethanol blending in vehicles are coming from different parts of the country. He said that efforts will be made to draw the attention of MPs towards this issue through Parliament March. Sanjay Samrat said, “We will try to wake up the MPs, who are sleeping on this issue, by taking out a Parliament march on August 4.”

Claims that the demonstration is completely non-political

Sanjay Samrat clarified that this demonstration is not a part of any political party or political movement. He also clarified his distance from ‘E-20 Janata Party’ and ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) and said that this protest of transport organizations is completely non-political.

Demand not to make E20 the only option

National President of All India Motor Transport Congress Harish Sabharwal has also supported the march. He said the government should not impose E20 petrol as the only option for drivers and passengers.

“Passengers and drivers should be given an option. At present no option is being given,” he said. However, he clarified that no strike has been called at present.

Parliament march announced amid social media movement

The announcement of the Parliament march against E20 has come at a time when an online movement named ‘E-20 Janata Party’ is becoming increasingly popular on social media. This campaign is also raising voice against E20 fuel. Now the debate on this issue is likely to intensify with the Parliament march of Delhi’s transport organizations.
