IND vs ZIM: After winning the series 3-0, Shreyas Iyer said ‘Thank you’ to VVS Laxman, said – You inspire us every day

Harare: The Indian cricket team performed brilliantly in the three-match T20 series against Zimbabwe and made a clean sweep of 3-0. After the 35-run win in the third and final match, captain Shreyas Iyer and interim head coach VVS Laxman praised each other’s role.

In the dressing room video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), both of them spoke on the team’s performance, leadership and confidence of the players.

VVS Laxman, who is taking over as the interim head coach on this tour after head coach Gautam Gambhir was given rest, said that Shreyas Iyer maintained the team’s confidence even in difficult circumstances.

He said that despite the challenging start to the England tour, Shreyas was confident of consecutive wins after joining the team a day before the first match.

Laxman said that many new players got a chance on this tour and only four-five players were part of the team from the England tour. Despite this, the captain led the entire team forward with confidence and a lot of credit for this success goes to him.

After winning the series, Shreyas Iyer thanked interim head coach VVS Laxman and said that the entire team and support staff made a great contribution.

He said that apart from a few missed catches, the team’s performance in the entire series was excellent.

India did a clean sweep with the new team

India entered the field on this tour with a relatively new team. Many players like Sanju Samson, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana were not included in the team.

Despite this, the young players performed brilliantly and India won the third T20 match by 35 runs and won the series 3-0.
