India has won its first medal in the Commonwealth Games 2026 being held in Glasgow, Scotland from 23 July 2026. This success has been achieved by Bihar’s para powerlifter Jhandu Kumar. Para powerlifter Jhandu Kumar has won the only medal for India so far. Jhandu Kumar looked very emotional after his achievement. Speaking to news agency ANI, he said, ‘I feel as if I am flying. This is my first medal. During the entire competition, only one thing was going on in my mind that I had to win the medal. Just have to win. Jhandu Kumar said that this medal is not just a personal achievement for him, but is the result of the hard work of all those who supported him at every step in his journey.
