Italy’s cabinet on Monday approved a special order, under which the excise tax on diesel will be reduced by 17 euro cents per liter till August 6. Government will be burdened with 125 million euros
Italy’s Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said that the government will have to bear additional expenses of about 125 million euros on diesel tax cuts and relief schemes for truck drivers and farmers.
He said that if energy prices remain high, additional relief measures like reducing electricity and gas bills will also be considered in the cabinet meeting to be held on August 4.
