Newcomer Saransh Jain’s entry in the Indian team against Sri Lanka, who will play the rest?

From 15th of next month i.e. 15th August, the Indian cricket team is going to play a two-Test series against Sri Lanka. The Indian team has been announced for this series to be held in Sri Lanka. Ravindra Jadeja has returned to the team after some time. All-rounder Saransh Jain has got a chance in the Test team for the first time and he has been included in the team in place of Washington Sundar. There are doubts about the fitness of Jasprit Bumrah and Sai Sudarshan but they have been included in the team. If both of them get clearance from the Center of Excellence, then only these two players will be seen playing in the team.

For this two-Test series, the Indian team will be led by captain Shubman Gill. The vice-captain is KL Rahul and the wicketkeepers are Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel. It is possible that Dhruv Jurel may once again be included in the team as a specialist batsman. The upper order also includes Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudarshan. If Jasprit Bumrah is fit then he can take charge of the fast bowling along with Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna. If Bumrar does not play then Gurnoor Brar may also get a chance.

How is the Indian team?

If we look at India’s bowling, there are four good spinners in the form of Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Manav Suthar and Saransh Jain. In this, two bowlers bowl with the right hand and two with the left hand. At the same time, if Bumrah is not fit for fast bowling, then Gurnoor Brar may get a chance in his place. However, it remains to be seen whether the Indian team plays with three fast bowlers or a spin all-rounder is given a chance in his place.

In this team, captain Shubhman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be seen opening. After him, the places of KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are also confirmed. If an extra batsman is played and Sai Sudarshan also remains fit, then Dhruv Jurel may also get a chance along with him. Even though Devdutt Paddikal is in the team, there seems little chance of him getting a chance.

At the same time, there is a possibility of playing two or maximum three out of four fast bowlers and at least two all-rounders. In this situation Kuldeep Yadav may also have to sit out.

Who is Saransh Jain?

Due to injury to Washington Sundar, Saransh Jain has been included in the Indian team. In the same month, while playing for India A, Saransh Jain took 6 wickets in two innings against Sri Lanka A. Not only this, he also scored unbeaten 70 runs in the first innings while he did not bat at all in the second innings. He has been rewarded for this performance and now he has been selected in the Indian Test team for the first time. 33-year-old Saransh Jain bowls off-break with his right hand and bats with his left hand. That means he is a perfect replacement for Sundar.
