Lucknow:The latest example of how the competition to become famous overnight on social media and garner views on reels can prove costly was seen in Hasanpur area of Amroha district. The truth behind the video of three sisters marrying the same young man that spread like wildfire on the internet recently has finally come to light. Under the pressure of strict investigation by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and the report sought within three days, the three girls appeared before the administrative committee and confessed that this was not a real marriage. This was ‘pranked’ just to increase followers.
Sisters’ secret revealed in front of CWC
Appearing before Amroha CWC Chairman Atulesh Bhardwaj, the main accused Devika alias Savitri recorded her written statement. The girls admitted that their motive was only to gain cheap popularity. According to the plan, she was going to reveal its truth within a day or two of uploading the prank video. However, as soon as the video went viral, pressure from the police administration and local Hindu organizations increased. Due to the fear of legal action and public outrage, the girls became very nervous and instead of admitting their mistake, they started trying to prove the prank to be true. Another important revelation made during the investigation was that the three girls are not real sisters, but cousins.

Temple management statement
In the video, the rituals of Havan Kund, Phere and Sindoor donation were seen, it was being said that this marriage took place in the famous Chamunda temple located near Dhauria village. However, as the controversy deepened, the temple priests had categorically refused to perform the rituals of any such marriage. Hasanpur Municipality Chairman and some other women were also seen in the video, which made the matter more sensitive.
Social media stunt in legal circles
According to Amroha CWC, a report on this entire episode was called from the local police station and the District Probation Office. The girls have given in writing that neither any marriage took place nor any religious ritual was followed. This attempt to mislead the public and the administration merely to get publicity on digital platform has now become a legal and social problem for these girls.
