Emirates Red Crescent launches water aid initiative to protect against extreme heat in UAE, budget of 11.5 million dirhams released
In view of the extreme heat, Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) 28 July 2026 ‘Water Aid’ initiative has been launched. for this scheme 11.5 million dirhams A budget of Rs. 10,000 has been allocated, the main objective of which is to provide relief from the scorching heat to the people living in UAE and expatriate workers.

Workers and common people will get relief
Under this initiative, shade will be provided for employees working outdoors across the UAE. Apart from this, water coolers and insulated water containers will be installed at public transport stations. In collaboration with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, maintenance of water coolers installed in mosques will also be ensured so that people can get cold water.
Help at international level also
Secretary General of ERC Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei Said that this initiative has been started in view of the increasing global temperature. Apart from UAE, water storage tanks and distribution networks will also be built internationally in areas where there is acute water shortage. He has appealed to donors and philanthropists to cooperate in this campaign so that water facilities can be provided to the needy communities.
