The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced Team India for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. This squad includes a name which is being discussed everywhere these days. Talented all-rounder Saransh Jain, born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has been selected in the Indian team for the first time. His selection is no coincidence, but a big reward for his consistently excellent performance in domestic cricket.

Saransh Jain has been included in Team India at a time when the fitness of star all-rounder Washington Sundar is under question. Sundar was injured during the second ODI against England, after which the selectors have expressed confidence in Saransh as a substitute. Right-arm off-break spinner and left-handed batsman Saransh has made a big impact in domestic cricket with both his bowling and batting.

Born on 31 March 1993, Saransh Jain made his first class debut in the 2014–15 season. He has scored 2,223 runs in 54 first class matches played so far at an average of 31.75, which includes 2 brilliant centuries and 14 half-centuries. Apart from this, in bowling, he has used the magic of his spin and taken 188 wickets in his name in 54 matches. Recently, he performed well for India ‘A’ on the Sri Lanka tour, taking 6 wickets in 2 matches and also played a match-winning inning of 70 not out.
